Zebra Print, Skinny Jeans, Pattern Mixing - What to Expect in 2025

Honest predictions born from honest perceptions. We’re not here to tell you what to wear or push you toward certain trends. We’re on the streets every day - observing, capturing, and taking note of the style choices that you’re making. From your closet to our radar, these are the trends we expect to see most in 2025.

If the SS25 shows taught us to prepare for anything, it’s the return of boho chic — we’re looking at you, Chloe. Although this revival was heavily reported on a few months ago, it’s only just begun to creep onto our streetwear radar. We’re sure that once the temperatures rise and your outfits are no longer covered with floor-length coats, we’ll see plenty of vintage waistcoats, embellished minis, and fringe boots that remind us of Kate Moss at Glastonbury.

How much is that zebra print The Rond Carre bag in the window? We first recognized that this print would become the new leopard during the Jacquemus Soho store opening in September 2024, and we’ve only been proved correct in the months since. H&M has also adorned their windows with black and white stripes, and IRO is pushing zebra in their newest collection. We’re excited to see how far this print is taken into the new year and wonder if it’ll have the same impact as the animal that came before it.

Another animal that’s slated to have quite a year is the humble cow. Maybe it’s because western has been trending lately, but we’re seeing these larger spots pop up all over the city in the form of bags, pants and shoes. If you aren’t already versed in animal print and how best to style it with your own wardrobe, this somewhat simple yet boldly contrasted pattern is a great first step.

The rumors are true: skinny jeans are back, hopefully not for good, but definitely in 2025. We’ve heard whispers of their return for some months now, and while most of us dreaded it, it seems we might cave to a purchase soon enough. Whether you dive head-first into a skin-tight style or opt for a less drastic slim fit, we’ll be ready and waiting to witness the new-age twist you bring to them.

There is a science to color and the shades of green that look best with certain skin tones. Warmer toned skin often pairs well with yellow greens — think olive, pear, chartreuse, while cooler tones should opt for the blue greens — your emeralds, pines, mints. All of that to say, pops of green are in this year, and we hope you find your perfect match just like you did when deciding between crimson, ruby and burgundy last year.

From simple herringbone + paisley to a more complex leopard + plaid + floral, all combinations are welcome to partake as we push for the return of maximalism this year. Layering patterns is as much of an art as creating a monochrome outfit, and while it might seem like an exessive feat, each look requires balance. Double up on trends by layering zebra print with polka dots, or go for a single piece that does the work for you.

Bootcut jeans are the lesser evil of the 2025 denim trends — yes, we’re still having a hard time accepting skinny jeans. A flattering cut born from a practical need for jeans that fit over the shafts of boots, this style of denim remains comfortable option for every day wear. Everybody has their favorite brand of denim, and some have no preference at all, but these options from Madewell and Levi’s are a good place to start when shopping for this trend.

SS25 shows were flooded with peplums and drop wasits — PH5, Sandy Liang, Nina Ricci, to name a few. We expected to see more of these waist enhancing cuts on the streets in the weeks following, but we were surprised with the lack thereof. Perhaps most people were not yet receptive to the overwhelming presence of this style on the runway, but we think you’ll be be reaching for them in the next few months.

Bling is back: studded denim, chainlink bags, sequin micro shorts. This also happens to be an ideal trend for the DIY girls in the chat — load up on vintage brooches and go crazy on your favorite blazer, round up the safety pins lying around your apartment and fix them to a plain tee, buy a Hotfix Applicator and rhinstone your button downs — the possibilities are endless. Or, opt for anything linked above, because we know you’re busy.

While letterman jerseys originate back to 1865, the wool and leather sleeve varsity jacket we know and love today wasn’t created until 1930 — and women athletes weren’t allowed to wear them until the thirty years later. What started a status symbol for elite athletes became a part of mainstream streetwear in the 80s and 90s, thanks to Michael Jackson, Run D.M.C., N.W.A., and Stüssy. These jackets are still available with as many or as few marking as you please, or you can call your mom and ask her to ship you yours from high school.

On trend with the return of boho chic, we’re also welcoming back fans of fringe. This this look is known to be synonymous with western and boho style, but that doesn’t have to be the case for 2025. While we are seeing a lot of traditional suede fringe jackets on the streets, there’s no limit to this detail can be applied — statement bags, beaded mini skirts, dramatic tank tops.
