What the It Girls Are Wearing: The Frankie Shop

A co-ord set is perfect for day to night wear, and while this one is seen styled for chilly days, the micro shorts make it a seasonally transitional addition to any wardrobe. Deep olive green stands out without screaming, and the addition of a muted knit and black accessories ties the whole look together.

I can’t say it enough — I love a full monochrome outfit that’s done right, and doing it right means thoughtful consideration of texture and layers. This blend of silk trousers, a light knit, and a waxy leather jacket creates a head turning look that been plucked straight from a fresh box of Crayola Crayons.

This look seems like a nightmare for the steamer, but a dream to wear for chic comfortability. A slight tuck of the oversized knit crewneck into pleated wide leg trousers adds the right amount of definition, and the matching satin trench coat is to die for. Chunky jewelry with hints of sage green make a statement against the muted olive, and who doesn’t love a vintage Louis Vuitton?

I’m loving the levels of translucence in this brown on brown look. A fully mesh skirt meets an equally sheer button down at mid-thigh, almost creating a skirt over skirt layering effect, and the sheerness of the jacket makes for an opaque look on top. The large suede bag resembles somewhat of a bowling bag, playing into the retro feel of the cropped satin bomber.

A perfectly fitting pair of straight leg jeans is a non-negotiable must have closet staple, as is a pair of black patent kitten heels. The leather bomber and button down add a coolness to this look that’s juxtaposed with oversized elements and a small sculpted hang bag.

Party on the bottom, business on the top pretty much sums up this mixture of heavy and sheer pieces. The sheer midi skirt hits right above the satin leather pointed toe boots, and the mid thigh slit on the back makes for maximum mobility. A drop shoulder faux leather jacket adds additional texture and boxiness over the button down silk shirt.

Who says you can’t dress up a pair of pajama like pants with a pair of kitten heel boots? This look is fun and slouchy, tucking pin stripe pants into suede racing stripe boots that are made to be seen. A trench coat that’s heavy on the shoulder pads adds definition when tied at the waist, and the pillbox hat is a funky addition to the downtown girl look.

Knit briefs in winter is a legendary risk, but this look is the correct way to do it. The green leaning khaki set is thick enough to layer from October to March, yet thin enough to stand alone in the remaining warmer months. A long trench provides the option to completely button up if the exposure to wind becomes unbearable, and pairing black tights with pointed toe boots makes this is a composed look.

Power dressing — but keep it casual. This chocolate brown blazer and matching pleated trousers are quick closet grabs for those days when you’re not interested in overthinking it. Pairing it with a similarly toned tee, black boots, and gold accessories ties the look together.

This look it the epitome of casual corporate chic. A light knit turtleneck topped with a deeply unbuttoned poplin shirt leaves nothing to be exposed, and the pleated trousers are office appropriate yet wide leg and loose enough to feel like lounge wear. The oversized leather adds a sophisticated double collar and proves attention to detail to an otherwise relaxed look.
