OOTD Coachella Edit - Cover the Basics
A well crafted Coachella outfit can be broken down with the following equation: a simple set + comfortable footwear + statement accessories + loose layers. Your personal style can still shine through in all four categories, but there’s no reason to overthink the planning if you take the right approach and build around the basics.
SIMPLE SETS
Finding the perfect distressed vintage denim vest to compliment your hand embroidered leather micro shorts can be fun, but it’s not for everyone. For that reason, I sourced a few simple, and very cute, sets for those of you that want to knock out the first layer in one smooth decision. You’re welcome!
PRACTICAL SHOES
Footwear is without a doubt the most important factor when curating your looks. Whether you’re looking for one pair to take you through the weekend, or you insist on coordinating a different shoe with each look — they absolutely MUST be comfortable. Stray very far away from any striking heel or strappy sandal and opt for something that’s more in line with the below selections.
ROC Tulsa Boot, $279.95
STATEMENT ACCESSORIES
Now for the fun part: accessories. Bolder is often better and there is no limit to the amount that you can build on, but consider the following — sunglasses are essential (duh), head scarves double as dust protection, your neck will sweat until the sun goes down, oversized bags take up too much space in tight crowds.
Tarina Tarantino Candy Charm Necklace, $158 (Originally $260)
DAMSON MADDER Ruched Kidney Bag, $59.50 (Originally $85)
LOOSE LAYERS
Above all, remember that you’re in the desert. While the heat may seem unbearable during the day, the wind is just as bad at night, and I promise that you won’t want to spend an hour in the merch line and $100 to buy an emergency hoodie. Coming from a seasoned vet, last year’s temperature drop was borderline offensive and I will be prepared with multiple layers this year.
