Stray very far away from any striking heel or strappy sandal and opt for something that’s more in line with the below selections.

Now for the fun part: accessories. Bolder is often better and there is no limit to the amount that you can build on, but consider the following — sunglasses are essential (duh), head scarves double as dust protection, your neck will sweat until the sun goes down, oversized bags take up too much space in tight crowds.

Above all, remember that you’re in the desert. While the heat may seem unbearable during the day, the wind is just as bad at night, and I promise that you won’t want to spend an hour in the merch line and $100 to buy an emergency hoodie. Coming from a seasoned vet, last year’s temperature drop was borderline offensive and I will be prepared with multiple layers this year.
